Disney-Toy Story Mania Online

Major Disney IP, high quality Disney art and animation, running on Mockingbird Platform packaged into starter games + user-created levels in a shooting gallery genre. After several months of thorough technical evaluation by Disney Online Studios, Mockingbird platform and service was chosen by Disney to power Toy Story Mania Online. Released in the Fall of 2009 at Disney.com as part of the promotions push for Toy Story Movies.

UB Funkeys

Mattel-UB Funkeys Game Creators

UB Funkeys is a virtual world based around retail purchases of different characters. When plugged in via USB , the Funkeys characters unlock a variety of game play and activities in the 1M+ user Funkeys World. Ace and Mulch, the UB Funkeys Game Creators driven by Mockingbird Platform, enable game creation-playing-saving within Funkeys World and drive rewards and unlockable content.

Mattel chose to use classic side-scrolling arcade gameplay and presented its audience with an Ace Starter Kit and Mulch Starter Kit. These played like standard fun games, but with Mockingbird the audience can interact and rearrange content and goals for unique, safe, and personalized user-created games.

Madagascar 2

MTV/Dreamworks Madagascar 2 Game Making Contest

MTV chose to use Mockingbird Platform as the enabling technology for user-created and saved game levels. A game making contest based around the Dreamworks Madagascar 2 characters was hosted and run by MTV on several of their major websites leading up to the release of Madagascar 2. The contest was a great success and produced metrics like this: 23,000 games were saved and entered into the contest. These contest entries produced 650,000 unique plays. The time spent with Madagascar 2 branded content was 3-4 minutes per user when averaged across the total 2 million unique game players/game makers. In other words, 3X the average was spent on the playing and creating Madagascar 2 game levels than standard branded web games.

Mockingbird Games

Mockingbird Games powered Playmockingbird.com

Playmockingbird is a sandbox and testing area for the original release of Mockingbird Platform. It has also served as a resource for gathering metrics and data on user-created games. Playmockingbird was released in Spring of 2008 and served as a great early full-scope proving ground for our technology and service. Since that time Mockingbird Platform has gone through two additional major releases, added many new features, and has become much more productized. Club Treasure World is a good current example and reference point for Mockingbird Platform as it is today with polish and production, but click here to see Mockingbird Designer one style of application and implementation of game making for everyone!
